Oscar nominated actor  and Las Vegas resident Tony Curtis (85) died at his Las Vegas home last night.  He died just before 9:30pm last night from cardiac arrest.  Tony Curtis who’s real name was Bernard Schwartz had heart bypass surgery in 1994.  He has been in and out of the hospital in recent years has died at 85.  A Hollywood icon known from the classic ” Some Like It Hot ” which he stared with Jack Lemmon and Marilyn Monroe.

LAS VEGAS (September 21, 2010) – In what will go down in Las Vegas history as the glitziest show to ever rock Las Vegas, Cher announced today that she will end her three year residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Saturday, February 5, 2011. Cher will have performed approximately 200 shows during the course of her three years at The Colosseum which began on May 6, 2008.

The extraordinary production, aptly titled Cher, is a high-energy, concert-style show that features the artist’s record-breaking hits, including “If I Could Turn Back Time” and “Believe”.  With her infamous rock-and-roll attitude and theatrical affinity, the show treats guests to an intimate look back through Cher’s iconic career, with vintage footage of rarely-seen “Sonny and Cher” clips and a marvelous stage that alters its scenery for every song and mood.
 
Designed exclusively for the 4,300-seat Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Cher boasts the talents of choreographer and director Doriana Sanchez, who brings Cher’s vision to life using 16 dancers and aerialists, state-of-the-art video and special effects, and ambitious set designs. Not surprisingly, audience members can expect to be blown away by Cher’s signature breathtaking costumes, which were designed by the world-renowned fashion icon Bob Mackie.

PIXIES
Saturday, Sept. 25 at 8 p.m.
After nearly 40 sold out shows on three continents since Fall, 2009, alternative rockers Pixies are bringing The Doolittle Tour back to the U.S.A.  The 11-city trek will extend the 20th anniversary celebration of the release of the band’s classic 1989 album, Doolittle.  The tour will make a stop at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Saturday, Sept. 25.

On this tour, Pixies – Black Francis, Kim Deal, Joey Santiago and David Lovering – will perform all of the songs from Doolittle and its related B-sides, “Weird at My School,” “Dancing the Manta Ray,” and “Bailey’s Walk” among them.  Doolittle, the band’s third album and the first to chart on Billboard’s album charts, includes classics such as “Debaser,” “Wave of Mutilation,” “Here Comes Your Man,” “Hey,” and “Gouge Away.”

Entertainer Terry Fator with another extraordinary gesture to the Las Vegas community with a million dollar donation pledge  to local charity, Opportunity Village.  Known for making fans laugh with his puppets at the Mirage,, here in Las Vegas has now become the organizations official spokesperson.  Part of his million dollar donation pledge will be used to reestablish the charities thrift store that was recently distroyed by fire.  The non-profit serves people with intellectual disabilities.  The singer, impressionist and ventriloquist is donating his own funds along with special benefit performances at his Strip theater, as well as special appearances including at the annual fundraising events Magical Forest and Great Santa Run for Opportunity Village.  Terry Fator shares his theater with other strip performers such as Jay Leno, Tim Allen, Ron White and Ray Romano & Kevin James when he is not performing at the Mirage.  Click2Vegas.com gives Terry Fator a standing ovation for his outstanding commitment to our community.
